Can an xray thing on a plane ruin a laptop?

also it says on southwest.com tht u can bring a carry-on and a personal item or something (i.e laptop purse blablabla) well all im bringin 4 carryon is a laptop and a purse can i do this?? im flyin wif southwest

Yes you can bring your laptop and a purse for your carry on items and no the xray machine will not damage your laptop. I always travel with mine and have never had an issue.

You have to remove your laptop from your laptop bag and place it in a separate plastic tray for x-ray, and the x-ray machine will not damage your laptop. Bringing just a laptop case and a purse for carry-on is absolutely acceptable as most laptop bags are much smaller than the maximum size allowed for carry-on.

no, it will not ruin it.  I believe that will be too many items for carry on unless you can bring a purse and condense all the other items into one bag
