Hey, I'm 14 years old and I think I could possibly get a job at the movies as a cashier or the bookstore or something. Would it usually be possible? Also, is it a good idea to work over the school year? I'm not sure how jobs work but can I like tell me boss, I want to work 2 hours a day and only on weekdays. That way when I get back from school at 3 pm I can just put on my work clothes and bike over to the mall, work for 2 hours and bike back and do my homework and study, eat dinner and go to sleep. So do you think this would work? Or would it be dumb cause I have to spend more time studying then getting a job?

  1. u cant get a job at 14,unless its babysitting or in ur moms shop or its illegal,  to get a job u have to be at least 16 with a working permit.

  2. Actually,I`m 14 and down in Florida I applied for a job at publix. Its possible but one mistake can ruin your entire scechdule.

  3. 2 hours a day..? Thats hardly a job.

  4. Honestly, you are only 14 years old, why are you trying to work and go to school? Typically, an employer will recognize that you are a student and your eduction comes first, therefore they are willing to work around your school/homework schedule. If they don't - quit the job. Your education will get you much farther than ANY mall job. Obviously, since you are looking for a job, there are circumstances that are causing you to need the money, which is understandable. But just remember that your education is much more important than any job. Good luck to you!
