I was in a bad car wreck on July 13th. I suffered compound fractures of both bones in my right lower leg (tib/fib) and compound fracture of my forearm (rt ulna). I had to have emergency surgery on both and was given antibiotics and pain meds throug iv in the hospital for a week and when I got out I stayed on antibiotics and pain meds every now and then. I had to have a second surgery on the 4th of this month, which meant more anesthesia and more antibiotics and pain meds. It has been six weeks since my last period. I had a tubal ligation in 8 years ago, but I read it is still possible to get pregnant. I would like to get some educated answers or from anyone who has had this experience. Thanks!

  1. I hope that nobody else has had this exact experience.  I am sorry for your misfortune, I hope you are well on the mend.  The odds of this being caused by trauma and medication vs pregnancy are like 200 to 1.  I would not worry about anything for another 4 weeks.  If you do not get your period you need to go to the doctor and make sure you are not suffering from some kind of internal injury from either the wreck or the surgeries.
