Can animals suffer from mental insanity? ?

Or does that require a complex mind like humans have?

  1. I guess you don't have a pet cat :P they're out of their fuzzy little heads :)

Of course they can.  I got my beautiful German Shepard dog from a very abusive person, and when he would look at her in his abusive glare, she would lose control,and pee on the floor, then he would kick her.  They suffer emotional abuse from humans the same as humans suffer from other humans.  (Nice guy huh?! ) He will get his turn.  

  3. they can suffer mental illness yes,all the pacing back n forth and rocking in tiny cages is typical of schizophrenia also the pulling out of its own fur/feathers is a form of depression and self harm.

  4. If an animal shows signs of insanity we have a different name for it.

  5. Humans do, and humans are animals. So yes.

    More intelligent animals maybe, but you don't have to be smart to be mental (though it helps) ;)
