Can anti bioctics fail to get rid of a kidney infection properly?

i was on anti bioctics about 3 weeks ago with a severe kidney infection.

Recently ive been getting similar symptoms that i had Early on in the infection (before i knew)

I don't know whether its just me being paranoid... i never want to go threw that pain ever again! and i know the symptoms can be a number of things

  1. Yes, they can fail to work; or a new infection could set in because of an underlying condition which predisposes the patient to recurrent infections.  In either event, it needs medical attention before it gets worse.


  2. yes, sometimes...we need to evaluate the progress and need to increase dasage or change type antibiotic with the spectrum and more strong potentiaty to kill bactery, for detail consult your doctor. to reliaf the pain , take acetaminopen, ponstan or tramadol....

Yes.  Many bacteria are resistant to antibiotics.  Also, if you did not take the medicine as prescribed (full ten days) you could have left some active bacteria in the system.  Also, when kidneys are irritated they become infected easily again.  There could also be other factors.  I would call your dr and ask if you should be seen again.

  4. Are you sure this is just an infection? And yes, antibiotics don't always work. Also if this is an infection why are you having them what are your risk factors are you a man or women etc.?
