  1. ofcourse they can...

  2. I don't think fish, reptiles, amphibians, or birds can produce tears or sweat. But I think almost all mammals can.

  3. Remember that the definition of animal includes fish, birds and insects. I think the best way to answer your question is to say that any animal with eyelids produces tears. Tears have 3 functions, to lubricate the eyelid, to kill bacteria and to moisten the surface of the eye to aid in oxygen absorbtion (there's no blood supply to the conjunctiva) Insects don't have eyelids so they don't make tears and fish eyes are moist all the time (for obvious reasons)

  4. I volunteer at an animal shelter for dogs and I've seen them cry.

  5. any animal with eyes and eyelids makes tears to keep the eye moist.  But most animals do not shed tears in response to emotion, as humans do.

  6. How about crocodile tear

  7. Yes...

  8. Yes, Animals can produce tears.  Any animal with eyes needs a way to wash out bacteria and dirt, thus they produce tears for this reason.  I have also seen Dogs produce tears when they whine.
