  1. I'd start with the old proverb, "This, too, shall pass". A good reminder that, whatever the situation, things will change eventually. Also, the scripture, "God maketh the rain to fall on the just and the unjust alike" comes to mind. The rich man in his castle also has problems. It would not hurt to remind people to count their blessings, because the rain is necessary for growth, both in plants and people. The best times of learning and growth often come from the storms in our lives.

  2. It's a pretty difficult topic to address, because it's not the rain that is at fault, it's the society, industrialization and the mismanagement of the society and its resources that is at fault. The rain generally washes away the dirt and grime and renews the earth and its resources to make it come alive with life and greenery. Good luck with your efforts - hopefully you will lend some intutive thinking that is consistent with a grade III students vision:

  3. 1-Use a personal exp in the beginning-Adds originality

2-Small sentences in one flow of thoughts

    3-Be specific about locations

    4-Pose a problem,...and a solution.

5-End with something  to stir people

    6-Use Illustrations...related to nature,short stories etc

To really help him take him to a slum while it is raining and make notes along with him at the location (especially since its the monsoons now!!!)

And most of all make sure your son does all the thinking ...coz he's got to  learn through this ...help him with the spellings and the style, speed etc of speaking

    All the best!!
