Can any body give me some information about recovery CD?

i bought my computer about i year ago i got with it some cd one of them is the recovery CD can any tell what the CD use for and is there anyriskk if use it to see what it doesthanksx all

you use it to restore the PC to the condition it was in when you baught it. so it will delete you hard drive and install all the programs that where on it when you first got it
