  1. Define war. We have been in several conflicts but not always at war. Big difference.

Define "respected by other nations." I could give a **** if a dictator in Iran doesn't respect America. So if the question is "Does anybody remember a time when the US was respected by other nations that we respect?" Yes I can, today...yesterday...ultimately someone is always going to have a problem with someone else, if a psycho doesn't have respect for my country I could honestly care less.

  2. war is not to be remembered...world peace is

  3. 1992-1993, btwn Gulf Storm and WTC-1

  4. The time the US was respected by other nations is right now.  The only people I've ever heard say otherwise were leftist here in the US; and Chavez, Kim Jong Il, and the President of Iran.  I see you're keeping good company.

The last time the US was at war was WW2.  Since I assume you actually meant to inquire about the last time the US was not in an armed conflict: It was right before Clinton sent us into Bosnia.  We're still in Bosnia with no exit strategy.

  5. even during the clinton years we were invovled in minor conflicts in the balkans and central america

The US during the Cold war was highly respected by western countries due to the fact that they were also against communism

  6. The Clinton years were pretty good.

  7. yes after the first gulf war.

  8. Yep.  1992-2001.

  9. World war 2 was called that because all the nations were at war.

They were asked to help, as Hitler was taking over Europe.

Every country has wars.  23 small countries was at war with each other in Africa alone last year.  In which thousands died.

The middle east was at war in the 1980's when Iran and Iraq fought and over a million died in that war.  Afghanistan and Russia was at war and all the small nations in Russian fell apart and they were all at war.

The wars the USA have been in are not their wars.  They just get involved for some strange reason.  North and South Korea were fighting and South korea asked for help.  North and South Vietnam were fighting and South Vietnam asked for help.

The Islamic forces have taken over Africa and basically are killing everyone, that to me sounds like a very disrespectful thing to do.

Russia and Georgia are fighting, and the USA is only involved because terrorists will not leave us alone.  Don't blow up other people's cities if you do not want them to retialiate.

  10. ummmm yes actually. Like when we rebuilt London, Japan, Germany. During the Clinton Administration. Also when 9/11 happened. Lots of times. We've done a lot of bad stuff in the world. But we've done a lot more good than other nations. Afterall we are the only ones who rebuild our enemies and our friends.

  11. Do you remember a time when it was OK to have national pride and not whine about what the rest of the world thinks of us?

And, unless you are 8, you can remember it too. And if you are 8, get off the computer, brush your teeth and go to bed. It's a school night.

And when you lay your empty, ungrateful head on your pillow, sleep well under the blanket of freedom that others have fought and died to bring you.

  12. I think the Marshall Plan earned us some respect from Europe. You know, free money to rebuild their hometowns.

  13. I think it is sad. I just remember that year after September 11th happened. I would wake up to the morning news and it would talk about terroists and how National Airport was still closed. Then they would talk about the war. I don't disagree with the war. I am just sad that I grew up with all the fear and unhappiness that follows with it.
