Can any conservatives here admit that Palin is a very odd choice?

Yes, yes, I know. Alienated Hillary voter appeal, conservative voter appeal, and, so on.

But for God's sakes, it looks down right goofy to me. I just read that McCain considers Palin to be a "soul mate".

Has McCain gone daft, or, light in the head?

No it was a smart move. You have a person you are running against that claims he is going to bring change. Yet you know he hasn't done anything at all other then just talk. Then you find someone that has brought about change in the past. Perfect choice to trump your opponent.

Then you have the fact that she is conservative, which your base is also. She also just happens to be a women. She is younger then your candidate with more executive experience.  

It is a winner

McSame is pandering to the xian right since he got bitchslapped by the late Falwell.  We would barely know the name of McCain today if he hadn't groveled to JF, "Please, please forgive me, I'll believe in Jesus, I'll even believe in you!  Just LET ME BE PRESIDENT!"   Falwell replied, "Sure, kid, heh, heh, heh, first kinda plant one on the old keister back there."

McCain is willing to risk having that unqualified lady become commander in chief in these troubled times just to win a few votes. Can anyone seriously argue she'll be ready on day one if that should be necessary?

Hilliary vote won't happen. But hard conservative, and evangelical will be.
