Question:

Can any crank fit any bottom bracket?

my crank and bottom bracket are kinda screwed, so i was wondering if any 19mm crank can fit a 19mm bottom bracket.

i have a euro bb and i want a macneil crank

  1. Mostly, yes.  There are a few that are proprietary and you have to use their bottom brackets, so check the description of the cranks you want to be sure.  Most of the time all you need to do is buy the right size bottom bracket for your frame that has bearings sized to take the spindle you have.  

    I don't think you can use the Macneil crank with your euro setup, though...I've never seen any thing that will let you use a euro bb with a regular crank spindle.  If your frame has a euro bb shell, then you'll have to choose a 3-pc crank to match the bottom bracket.  

    Hope this helps you out.  If you're still unsure, just ask the shop you're buying the parts from and they can tell you right away if everything is compatible.


  2. there r different type of bearings. american, mid, spanish, and euro.  and spindles come in different sizes like 19,20,22 mm

    u just gotta no the sizes
