  1. If you go to a passport office you could get it in 2 weeks but will have to wait in line a good part of the day to do it. Another option is go to a service canada office where there is a much shorter line up but it takes up to 10 weeks.  Be sure to have all necessary documents in order no matter what you do.

  2. I received mine about 3 weeks after I sent it in.  I did not go and stand in line - I sent it by registered mail.

  3. If you drop off the aplication in person at the passport office it is faster.

  4. Depends on where you're applying from.  If there's an embassy close by, go directly there and ask for expediated service if you need it in a hurry.  They can do it within 48 hours for emergencies, but otherwise, 2-4 weeks I think is the norm.

  5. i actually applied few day's ago, the women said it could take up to 10 day or 2 weeks.

  6. I applied through our local passport office (Windsor, Ontario).  Maybe I got lucky the day I went down there, but I barely waited and spoke with the processor fairly quickly.

(I had earlier picked up the application and completed it at home - any post office should have the form).

I had my passport back through the mail in less than 2 weeks.

I've read and heard that submitting it directly to the passport office speeds it up a bit but I think any method is fairly quick right now.  When they first announced passport requirements, there was a huge rush to apply; the same will happen, I'm sure, as they get closer to the June, 2009, deadline, but at present it seems to be fairly speedy.

  7. Depends where you are.  Mine took a total of three weeks through Riyadh KSA.
