Can any ghost hunters help me?

Question

My girlfriend and I have been experiencing many paranormal events in our apartment and we need to figure out what is it that is haunting us. So we went over a list of every kind of supernatural entity we could think of:

ghost/spirit

banshee

leprechaun

faerie

angel

boggart

bogeyman

demon

gnome

goblin

gremlin

imp

pixie

Our question to ghosthunters is how can we tell the difference? Are there tests that you use that can tell the difference between gremlin activity and ghost activity?

Also, how come there are so many ghost hunters but not so many gnome hunters or imp hunters? Do you just automatically assume it is a ghost, or is it that ghosts are just more numerous and responsible for more hauntings?

Being open minded in this case is being an airhead. Let me see if I can make this clear. These beings are FICTIONAL.  They are NOT REAL. They make for good stories. Thats all. If you run across anyone else who says differently and claims to have ghosthunting skills, hold on to your wallet. A fool and his money are soon parted.

Can you please be more specific to what is going on in your home? Its hard to tell you what you might have if there is not enough details on your haunting.

You need to write down and document everything that is going on in a journal and the times and where it happens to see if a certain pattern emerges.

There is no exact science on ghost hunting and what we "ghosthunters" do.I also cant answer your question on exactly what entity you have in your home until you can give more details or tell us what you are seeing.

Maybe if you described your "haunting" someone might be able to suggest a possibility. Most, if not all these creatures are completely fictitious.

I think it's funny when someone says they believe in one item on the list and then deny the existence of the others. If you admit the possibility of one, seems like you'd have to admit the possibility of all unless your particular religious belief dictates which beings exist. And in that case, it's not objective scientific investigation but religious belief you're exercising. And the existence of a thing is not predicated on mass belief in that thing. Just because relatively few people believe in leprechauns doesn't mean that leprechauns are any less likely to exist than ghosts.

To answer your question, to my knowledge ghost hunters don't have any tests to distinguish between leprechauns and ghosts or other supernatural entities. They treat all supposed hauntings as ghost hauntings. It's rather closed-minded of them, as you pointed out yourself.

You can have paranormal activities anywhere however, it doesn't mean there is an actual haunting.  I believe in hauntings and poltergeist.  There is evidence but maybe in your mind you wish not to believe.  Just ask whatever activity is bothering you to go to the light and leave you alone.  You may have to ask more than once.  Good luck  :D

Just about all of those on that list are not real.  The only ones I believe in and the most wide reported cases are Ghosts, demons, and angels. Unless you got a pot of gold somewhere or you stole the Leprechauns Lucky Charms.  Then you're screwed.  :-)

You forgot santa claus....and I dont mean to be funny. your list has fictional characters on it......Everyone has a list they believe in and others dont...depends on your own feelings.....but if you have activity you may want to seek help on getting someone to investigate. Have you done any homework...meaning.....where you live at? any history? if you can come up with a list of creatures you should be able to do some research. other than that...if its bother some call some one to come in or move....this would fascinate me for sure!

Ghost hunters relay on EMF meters and Thermal scanners and tape recorders and cameras. Most ghost hunters assume any evidence they collect is ghosts. Others merely state it is paranormal but cannot say for sure if it is a ghost. Most believe it is simply because that is what they are after.

yep you got elemental. they are calling you to be allies in their quest to clean up this planet. although they can be quite the pranksters start researching faeries. they do not like filth of clutter, pesticides and cleaners be aware and ask before cutting mowing or picking any plants. recycle use organic. i see that they are trying to get your wife's attention. support her or they will make you miserable. fairies are lovely to work with consider yourselves very lucky. they will bless you with many a wondrous things in your lives.

Ghost hunters are an arrogant lot.They see it as beneath them dealing with imps and lesser supernatural creatures.They leave that to paranormal investigators.It's similar to the Brain Surgeon-Proctologist relationship.I hope that clears things up for you.

its probably a ghost or something I  used to have a relatives ghost in our house and somebody got rid of it after they were done the door opened and closed by its self probably leaving I suggest you talk to a "medicine man/woman"

As a ghost hunter myself, I do not deny the existence of other creatures except demons, however when I do investigations, I am looking for ghosts, not pixies, or faeries or any other creature you listed.

I think most ghost hunters feel that ghosts are (possibly) the spirit of a person who has passed and for whatever reason still remains on this plane of existence. Many of them also believe in angels and demons (at least if they're Christain). The other creatures you mention just tend to conjure up a fairy tale image in the minds of most people, like when people talk about Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. The people who do experience paranormal activity just automatically assume it's a ghost.

Anyway, I suggest you check out some of the articles on this site http://the-atlantic-paranormal-society.c... If you've watched Ghost Hunters on the Sci-Fi channel you'll be familiar with TAPS. They are one of the few ghost hunting groups that also have staff who study other paranormal beings such as gnomes, fairies, and "astral critters".

Did you just list the BOOGEYMAN as a supernatural entity? The boogeyman, faeries, leprechauns, pixies and so on aren't believed by ANYONE to be real.

Oh and by the way, none of the other stuff exists either, but at least there are other people who believe in ghosts. Boogeyman... haha..hahaha... you crack me up.

Well where to start? I guess you can group some of these in to  the same thing with different names.  I would place ghost/spirits, Banshees , and angles as disembodied souls.

Then I would pace Imps, Fairies, Pixies and wood Elf's    together as woodland dwellers.

Boggarts and  Gnomes and their modern day equivalent the Gremlin are about the same, just think of Gremlins as the high tech cousins who like  to s***w up stuff for fun. These are the pranksters.

Bogyman, Goblin, and demon are evil.

Most of them are the same thing with different names depending on what part of the world your in or what your belief system you have. Some may over lap as to what they do.

There are a lot of people that only hunt ghosts.  I look in to every thing myself, trying to stay away from anything evil.  I don't go into anything looking for a ghost.  I try to find some other explanation,I test for RF levels, radiation levels, EMF levels, electrical problems first.  Most people just want some help to sort things out and we try to help.
