ok well Blake just lost a little while ago. And guess who beat him-- a well motivated Tipsarevic. If our other US player Mardy Fish can keep winning then these two will meet in the 3rd round I think. Then the winner will have a chance to face Djokovic in the quarters

  1. On the mens side, I dont see anyone doing it, but perhaps a longshot, in time, Donald Young just might be able to on clay.

As for the women, only Serena has a chance. Not only does America lack clay court specialists, we are lacking in up and coming talent. While Williams Sisters are still a force, they are in their mid to late 20's already ( how fast! ), Davenport plays part time and is 31 ( though at same time I think age is over rated ), and basically thats it for the women. craybas is 32 or so, Shaunessey isnt a factor, Harkleroad lacks strength, King is too weak, Diity, the same, I mean who do we have?

For the guys, Blake is already 28 and inconsistent, Fish, struggles with injuries, Roddick is a one slam wonder, and too stubborn to change his game to get wins, Querry is our best hope, but then thats it. We used to always have players that were a force in the game, but steadily, slowly, we are lacking talent within the country, sadly.

  2. On the women's side it would definitely be Serena, it'd be a long shot with Venus because she's never been that good on clay, but anything can happen. One the men's side the closest person would be Andy Roddick, and though I like him, he won't change up his game to be good on clay. Probably the best cahnce besides roddick would be allot fot the new young, up-and-coming players like Donald Young, he's got a very good versatile style of play and he's got allot of heart, I think he could win allot of grandslams, he's got potential.

  3. Who knows, maybe some day!

  4. Not really.  Ever since Courier, Agassi, and Chang retired, none of these modern players really have a chance on the clay surface.  Their games are really not suited for the high bouncing ball.  Hard court is their best chance :)

  5. Modern is a funny choice of words.  I would still consider Jim Courier, Michael Chang, and Andre Agassi to be modern players, and each of them won the French.

Now, that said, there aren't any currenly active American players that can win the French.  Roddick is the best shot, and he has a snowballs chance in h**l of winning in Paris.

  6. i'll do it for ya man. i love slidin'
