Maglev, it will eventually be reached sooner or later if someone wanted to. But conventional Monorail? Friction like crazy.

Germans have a 400kph monorail, actually maglev. I think aerodynamics get a little tricky above that speed, not so much for the train, but surrounding buildings, trees, etc.

The japanese already have! the speed limit is about 600mph the speed of sound.

No, you can´t.  And the maglev is a failure, too expensive, too much energy consumption, cannot use the existing tracks, and over 400 km/h the ammount of time won is very low in comparison with the noise and energy consumed.
