  1. The TA is just like the Regulars although you are only part time. You go through the same Basic Infantry Training as the British Army, after that you then go onto Continuation training in your chosen trade depending what your unit offers you. If your a girl you normally choose from Medic,Clerk,Cook and a few other Non Combat (or non direct combat) role's. You need to remember that in joining the TA you are still joining the Army and you are eligible to be called up if the sh*t hut's the fan, but this is very unlikely because you have to put your name down and they normally have too many people to send. I think you should definitely go for it, I enjoyed the time I was in the TA and it has now spurred me on to join the Regulars.

    It isn't like Dad's Army or like the TA used to be, we use all the same equipment as the Regulars. We use the same vehicle's,equipment and weapon's as the regulars. We have to because more and more TA Soldier's are going into Combat zone's.
