Can any one tell me how I can find the name of the original owner of my home built in 1972?

Ive searched all accessable records for my county. It's very important I find the name, all I know is the owner was an Italian immigrant. I belive their is a spirit residing in my home and I would like to figure out if I can pinpoint the same name I am reiciving with the original owners wife or relative. I know this sounds crazy but I dont know how else to go about my research.

In the UK ?Try the Land Registry.

or maybe whoever holds the title deeds.

You need to get your property ID number from your tax record, or go to  your county's Register of Deeds Office and ask them to pull it up. Then you can search the libers in the Register of Deeds Office to find the land ownership of your home all the way back in time to the very first owner way back when. Most Register of Deeds offices don't have their records online because that costs serious money to have them all transcribed (competing with other budget things like the Sheriff's budget). So you'd have to go down there in person and spend the 20 minutes to pull the records.

When you bought your house, somebody did a title search.  The report should have all information on previous owners.

The county court will have on record all of the transactions for the piece of property. You will have to dig through their record, but you can find it that way. Or you can try asking an elderly neighbor who might remember who used to live there.

Check local libraries too! Sometimes they can tell you what the land was used for before the house was built. Sometimes you can find old newspapers, photos, aerial views too, depending on your community resources. Good luck!

it's not that wierd, it would probably be best to go to the city hall of records and find the property coordinates and then look up the first owner or owners. that's my best guess. sorry I can't help more ------ by the way... your cute.
