Zhangmu is Tibetan name, and Khasa is Nepali name of the small city at the Nepal-China border. It's 127Kilometers drive from Kathmandu.

Direct arial distance of Everest from Kathmandu is about 150 Kilometers, but there are no roads, and only way to reach near Everest is by air. There are several flights daily.

Tingri Shekar (Dring ri Shel dkar) is a small town approximately 60km north-west of Mount Everest and just over 50 km from the Nepali border in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
