  1. A legal, court ordered test cost me $630 a couple months ago.

The take home tests cannot be used in court. For court you need a test that has a 'chain of custody'.

  2. My son payed 500 dollars , but he also wanted the foot prints checked. Don't do a home DNA because it might not be able to be used in court.  They take pictures of who is getting DNA done. It still took the court 3 months  for the courts to adjudicated him as the father.

  3. The ones you get in the stores only compare a small piece of dna, just enough to say you might be related to someone, no matter how remotely, if you want proof positive, you will have to go through a lab.

That said, Dna tests run from about $300-$600 if you go to the lab. You can get a home kit to send to the lab and taht way is cheaper but longer to get the results

Unfortunately the only reason a court will pay for it is for child support purposes after you've already broken up

  4. Here they are $250. For what you need the mail away type might be best. You wait longer for results but the price is far lower.

Good luck, I hope you are able to get the answers you need soon.

  5. go to Rite Aid they have tests there. I think they are about thrity dollars or something

  6. There's no need for a DNA test; you just have to meet with the person you're comparing DNA to and you both think of a number between 1 and 100. If your within 10 of each others number it means you're related, like cousins. If you're within 1 or your numbers match, then you are parent and child or siblings. This is much more effective than DNA testing and it will hold up better in court.

  7. You can buy a home DNA test at Meijer, I about flipped when I found coupon for a home DNA test, I didn't know they existed until about a month ago.

  8. Try googling it. :)

  9. FAR OUT in Australia its $950 to have a sibling one done

  10. usually between 1-200$

  11. If child support does it its $600, other than that I don't know.

  12. I had one done in 1997.

Then it was $321 per person and three people needed to be tested ( me, baby & daddy) I had to fron the cost for me & baby and the father had to fron his share. With the stipulation that if it returned negative, I had to suck up my loss and reimburse him. And if positive he had to pay me back.

In order for it to come back positive I was told it had to be 95% or higher for the courts to see it as him being the father. Mine came back 99.89% positive

Since then prices have come down considerably & last I heard they were about $300 for everyone.

Personally I wouldnt trust some at home test, especially if your trying to establish paternity for the courts. I would only deal with a good reputable lab

  13. well, medically theyre pretty pricey, maybe 2 or 300.

If it's one you need for the court to get child support, I believe the court will pay.. those can be about 800.

    Good luck
