Can any phone line have multi lines just by using a multi line phone?

Do you have to subscribe to a plan, or can a phone with 8 lines answer up to 8 phone calls? No special plan needed?

with a single phone line, regardless of how many lines your phone can handle, you will only be able to make/receive one call at a time...

with the EXISTING wiring in your home (and the addition of a second phone line) you are most likely only able to use a 2 line phone.

a 4 line phone normally requires 2 jacks, connected to either a single 4 pair wire, or 2 separate 2 pair wires..

(as well as 4 separate phone lines coming from the phone company)

there are no plug and play 8 line phones, for a phone to handle 8 lines it would have to be connected to a phone system, and the installation of a phone system can be quite expensive, depending on your needs.

you can only get as much service as you pay for...
