Sometimes its the best job in the world, sometimes its the worst.  you run into the nicest and meanest people you will ever meet and no two days are alike.  The only consistancy in the job is you know something will happen but you wont know when or where.  You just hope you can get there in time to make a difference.  I wouldnt take any other job.

You will definitley experience the worst you can imagine and sometime very funny and sad things. You have to be careful not to let the job steal your soul or you will learn to distrust everyone, be suspciious and only associate with other cops. Very hard to back away from th job at times but many have done so successfully.

You will get a unique perspective on people and life in general. Some would say that you become a little more spiritual .

You will have to learn to never be with your family or wife as most others are during birthdays, re-unions, holidays, etc. I hope you find a pspouse as good as I did. You will need it.

I have never regretted the job but am also glad I am retired. I wish you well if you are interested in this line of work.
