I am planning a visit to Sikkim ,how far is the air port and how much they charge up to gangtok, all about hotels etc

Sikkim is a lovely place to visit. The nearest airport is Bagdogra near Siliguri in West Bengal. It is a 4-5 hour road journey to Gangtok from there. Gangtok is a beautiful place. People there are very cordial as well. These places thrive on tourism. About the hotels and rates, it is escalating every year. So better surf google for it. From Gangtok you can go to different places like Nathula Pass and Changu Lake. Better book your trips in about 1-2 weeks in advance as visit to such places requires prior permissions of the Army as these are border areas. You can also go round Gangtok and shop your heart out there. This is all i can tell you. Do surf about that place and ya happy journey.
