Sorry to be the voice of dissent, but you really aren't doing yourself any favors by trying to learn about pool online.  For that matter, books and videos by themselves have some merit, but are very limited in their effectiveness.  Additionally, if you are serious about improving your game, you should be willing to put some time and effort (and yes, money) into it.  In pool, knowledge by itself is not power.  Understanding and proper application of knowledge is the path to improvement.  Check out the BCA website to find a quality instructor near you.  Best of luck.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.
