  1. kuhli loaches, also known as cooli loaches are great in a community tank. also they don't grow very big. they stay rather small, about 4" max.

  2. dont rely on information from most petshops as most just care about selling you a fish. Unfortunatley your tank is far too small for many loaches like clown loaches yo yo loaches etc. But a good choice would be kuhli loaches. They are common and max out at about 10 cm ( 4inches ) and would be perfect for this setup. They can be quite shy when kept in small numbers so i would suggest of a group of at least 3 preffably higher to see this fascinating fish at its full potential. more info can be found if you google kuhli loach. You could also have the dwarf chained loach or Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki. these are the smallest loach available and max out at about 4-5 cm.However these are not as commnly found and lack the personality and charm that makes kuhli loaches such popular fish. Hope this helps :]

  3. Weather Loach

    Kuhili loach

    common loach

    flying fox

    Dwarf plecs ect.....

  4. i own lots of loches including horseface ,sucking, khuli, dojo, clown, another botia, the samllest being the khuli they are great in groups of 6 and are fantastic to watch shimmy accross the bottom of the tank they are very cute and will not harm any fish or shrimp hope this helps

  5. The smallest Loaches you'll find are Dwarf Chain Loaches (Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki), which will rarely top 2"...  Unfortunately, they're not nearly as common as Kuhlis, and will cost a bit more.  If you'd rather have something a bit less ordinary, Hillstream Loaches would be a good choice, but you'll want to provide a reasonable current and fairly cool water (below 25*C) to keep them healthy.  They are not technically Loaches (not in the family Cobitidae), but are commonly considered Loaches, and certainly act quite similar.

  6. A group of 4-6 Kuhli loaches would work. They are one of the smallest loaches that you're likely to see in a pet shop.

  7. Hi,

Yeah you would be better off asking the petshop worker, but some species grow bigger enough to eat small fish and so you would be best asking the petstore clerk. And if they don't know find out what it's name is and research on the internet.
