  1. No.  You either have to buy a vehicle that's already designed to use ethanol, or you can purchase a device to install on your car so that it can run on ethanol.  I researched this a few weeks ago.  The one I found would allow you to use either ethanol or regular gasoline.  It was around $300.00 US.

  2. Not very well at best.

The thermal energy of ethanol is 34% less than gasoline. That is that it takes 34% more etnanol to produce the same energy as you would get with gasoline.

This is mostly the reason that ethanol is used with gasoline only in small ratio's.

However there are some other differences in the fuel properties that require design differences to burn each efficiently.

  3. I heard in China its an alternative fuel :)

  4. All gasoline engines can use up to 10% ethanol, and you're probably using 10% now (check your gas pump next time you fill up).

To run a car on 100% ethanol, you need to change out some of the seals in the engine and make some other modifications.

Below is a link to a kit that can convert your car to 85% ethanol. I don't know anything about it, and am not endorsing it.

  5. All the pumps in our area say 10% ethanol and it seems to work in every car I've driven.

  6. no most vehicles can use a small percentage of ethanol but if u want your vehicle to run on 85% ethanol the engine has to be modified but its cheap to do the problem is ethanol doesnt have a high enough octane rating to burn effectively in a regular gas engine

  7. No not all vehicles
