Can any1 tell me how the EARNEST's are related to the Stewarts?Decendants of Robert the Bruce king of Scotland

My husband is somehow related to Robert the Bruce King of Scotland, some how or another he is his great hoevermany times grandson. Can anyone find anything that links the Earnest's to the Stewarts? I will give ten points to best answer! Thanks for helping!

The Stewarts are not descendants of Robert I of Scotland.  His daughter married into the Stewart family & eventually the Stewat's took over.  The First Stewart King was Robert II.  Can your husband provide evidence of a direct link between himself & Robert Bruce?  You'd be surprised how many Americans make this claim, even that they are descended from Wuilliam Wallace.  To most Scots these claims are laughable.

All I can say about Earnest is that is not a name I associate with Scotland.  I tried to find info regarding it but drew a blank.
