Can anybody discuss Biodiesel production will allow continued sustainable growth in the personal car market?

To me, biodiesel is not the answer.  Right now, the cost of energy conversion from crops to fuel is too high.  We will cause a food crisis if we attempt to convert too much farmland into biofuel crops rather than food crops.

This process is not effective enough to be a viable alternative to oil.

Technology may overcome these current problems by using a bacterial conversion process or non-food products such as switch grass.  But, right now, it's a no go.
