  1. A 1 meter ruler will have 1000 small divisions, each of these is 1 millimeter. Ten of those is 1 centimeter. There are 100 cm in one meter and  1000 mm in one meter. Generally the centimeters are numbered and the millimeters are just small segments. On each cm, the fifth mm is a longer segment. Starting from Zero and up to the 15th mm, you could read that dimension as either 15 mm or 1.5 cm.


  2. Read a metric the nearest tenth of a millimeter.
