  1. ok first take your final number which is $81 and divide that by the remaining % to get 100%  like this 81 divide by .90= 90 since we already took .10 off

    then you do the same using 25% 90 divide .75= 120 since we already took .25 off thus your answer $120

  2. $81 35% umm well now if I could just rember how to do this... sorry

  3. $81 x 0.35 (.25 +.10) = 28.35

    $81 + $28.35 = $109.35 =]

  4. i got $112! not sure how correct that is but i just added the 25% and 10% to the 81 bucks!

  5. Lets work the problem kind-of backwards.  The two discounts cannot be added together because they were discounted at different prices.

    $81 is 90% of the most recent markdown.  so 81 divided by 9=9 .  (b/c 81 is 90% of 100 or 9/10ths of the whole amount)

    So before the 10% markdown the price was 90 (81+9)

    If the $90 had been marked down 25%, $90 is 75% of the origingal price. So now we have to figure out how much the 25% discount was, then add it to $90 to get the original price.

    75% divided by 3 is 25%  (b/c the 75 is only three parts of the whole 100%)

    90 divided by 3 is 30. The first discount was $30.

    $90+$30=$120!

    If you wanted to double check your answer take $120 multiply it by 0.25= $30.

                   $120 -30= $90

    $90 times 0.1= $9

                $90-9=  $81(the same amount crystal paid in the question)

  6. $81 is 90% of the price after the 25% discount. This price therefore is 81/0.9 = $90.

    $90 is 75% of the price before the first discount.

    This is = 90/0.75 = $120.

    as bessy said first.

  7. It was $120

    120 - 25% = $90.00 (120  x0.75)

    then

    90 -10% = $81.00 (90 x 0.9)

  8. 3 total prices: Orignal price, 25% off, 10% off extra.

    If something is discounted 25%, and then discounted an extra 10%, what is the total discount?

    1 - 1*.25 = .75 (This is the % you paid after a 25% discount)

    .75 - .75*.1 = .675 (This is the % you paid after an additional 10% discount)

    So let's say X = original price.

    .675x = 81

    Divide both sides by .675

    x = 120.

  9. If the discounts are 25% and then 10%, you're paying 75% then 90%.

    This is the same as paying .675% ( .75 * .90 = .675).

    So the original price is:.81 / .675 = $120.
