  1. not every diesel can use biodiesel. the 2000+ models  can.

older ones need rubber fuel lines and seals replaced to viton rubber. the methonal in the BD destroys natural rubber.

BD is more expensive than PD. fuel econmy drops (unless towing, then it goes up slightly)

it's hard to find a station that sells it.

it is time consuming to make.

after you get all the equipment, it costs about 1.00 per gal to make.

  2. They cost more, they are in short supply in some areas of the country and biodiesel isn't available at everywhere.   Of course they could make their own, but that would entail work...

  3. I am pretty sure that if you have a diesel car you can put biodiesel in it.  Boyfriend has three such cars.  Now making it a veggie car would take more work.

People might not be doing this because they don't know where to get biodiesel.  Where I live there is only one place where we can get biodiesel:

Also, check out the properties of diesel fuel as it affects the car differently depending on the climate where you live. i.e. cold vs hot.

  4. Yes, they can. But most diesel vehicles in the U.S. are trucks. There are quite a few diesel pickups, and of course all the big rigs are diesel, but the only diesel cars available in the U.S. now are a few VW and Mercedes. Why don't more people do that? I don't know. Do you? If not, why?

  5. Yes.

    Because they:

    1. Are lazy

    2. Don't have access to places that sell biodiesel

3.Don't know how to make it

4.Don't know that it is beneficial to the environment

    5. Don't care about the environment

    6. Can't afford to switch to a different vehicle that's powered by diesel

or any combination of the above.

  6. I have a diesel car and I would love to put biodiesel in it if it was reasonable in price, but it isn't sold near me.

  7. because supply is all most nothing.

any company could not make large amount of this type of the fuel.
