  1. Be rich.  It costs a lot of money to train as a pilot unless you want to be sent to Iraq.

  2. Yes - go to air school first and you will then have all the info you need.

  3. join the air force

  4. The first thing to do is to go to your local general aviation airport. If you go to a flying school, you can ask for a consultation on how to begin your flight training and where you want to go with it. But going to your local airport is the first step.

  5. Go to www.mod.co.uk

  6. Duhh ....How about ..........learn to fly a plane.  ;-))

  7. i want to be an airline pilot too! you never know we might meet one day! i've been thinking about lots of diffrent options,

       1. by going to university

2 getting a sponsor or join an airline

        3 paying for it myself

i think that by going to univesity it will provide a wide range of skills and knowledge for being a pilot and also other careers in aviation, but my problem is i don't come from a well of backround and this could be expensive!

getting a sponsor or joing an airline would be difficult! but i think that it would be the option i'm aiming for at the moment. (you could joine the RAF but i'm not doing that beacuse of my opinions and also some airlines prefer if you weren't at the armed forces beacuse some of those pilots are a little 'reckless')

if you do have the mone to pay to train yourself then go for it! altoughit is very expensive (around 60,000 - 70,000 pounds)

i wish you all the best and luck for the future!

  8. From what I have heard It costs About 25lacs for a18 mth CPL course in the US .Its 20 lacs in Australia.

  9. Go to a flight school, learn to fly, become an instructor, then get a job flying a small commuter turboprop, or maybe cargo, and eventually you will get enough ours and enough experience to be hired into the right hand seat of an airliner. After a few years at that you may be promoted to captain, or you may move to the right seat of a larger airliner. There are sooooo many combinations it would be impossible to list them all here.

Some people are getting reserve airline pilot jobs right out of school, since some companies hire people with as little as 350 hours, and there are plenty of people who are past that mark when they finally decide to get serious with flight training.

It really depends on the type of person you are, too. I knew a guy, a real level headed instructor, never thought he had a chance until he put in an application and a few weeks later he was flying a CRJ, which is a significant leap from the Cessnas we were flying. Its 3 times as fast and 100 times the price, literally.

Or if you have a college degree, sign up for one of the armed services and fly for them, not necessarily fighters, but they do have a h**l of alot of good aircraft that can give you a huge headstart, like the c-130, c-5, and c-17. You fly for 6 years, and if you like it stay, dont like it go get a job for $80k at an airline.

  10. If you are in england try British Airways or Oxford aviation you can order there directory online, its quite comprehensive and should answer your questions.

    Good Luck
