Can anybody help me with my Science homework ?

Question

One question on my science homework asks why can a plant not function when a clear plastic bag is tied around it's leaves.I know this is probally really obvious and sorry in advance for being so dumb !

P.s, I think it has something to do with photosynthesis !

Umm let's think umm i think it's cause its accet to air is cut or and it cant breath through its leaves

i think its the carbon dioxide cant get into the stimata (? sorry i dunno if thats how its spelt :$ ) and maybe something to do about with water vapour? :S

and maybe photosynthesis wont work as well :S :P

The answer is that a plant needs to have a supply of carbon dioxide to continue photosynthesis.  If an air tight bag were placed around the plant, there would be no further photosynthesis after all of the carbon dioxide was used.
