We brought Teddy(my shar pei) to the vet and he said that he was extremely healthy and not to worry about he's ears. he said just to keep cleaning them twice a week with any dog ear cleaner, we've been using Essentials ear cleaner for dogs twice a week. He seems like he's ears are bothering him and he shakes he's head quit often. a couple of times when we will pet he's head he will cry when we get to close to he's ears. Ive seeing this vet for about 15 years and never had a problem with him( my mom has been going to him for about 20 years also) so i do trust him, im just wondering if there's something else i can do to help my dog...it hurts to see him in pain

  1. It does sound like he has an ear infection, turn the ear inside out and see if it's red inside or you notice an odor. He'll need medication from the vet.

  2. If your dog is in obvious pain, the ear wash is not working.  It really sounds like he has an ear infection - if necessary, take him to a different vet.

  3. You need to go the vet. It sounds like he has an ear infection. Not only is it painful for the dog but left untreated it can also cause hearing loss.
