Five months ago, on the night before we moved from west texas to north texas, I was at our house and I was going to the bathroom. I was staring at my shoes. When I looked up, there was a beautiful cat staring right at me. I was stunned. I held out my hand, and she walked right over and rubbed herself against it. It was destiny, and my fiancee and I decided that she chose us, so we took her in. When we moved in with our friend in north texas, we noticed that she was ballooning up really fast. It dawned on me. She was pregnant. We could have kittens but we couldn't put her on the street. So we kept her, loved her, and took care of her and two months later, she had three beautiful kittens. Now, these kittens are three months old and are the sweetest kittens I've ever seen. She's raised them well. They all use the litter box, are used to being around dogs, and are playful but gentle. They love to snuggle up together on my chest at night and give me little kitten kisses. When they play, they don't bite or scratch you, just gently gnaw gently on a finger or two, or bat around a toy mouse. They don't mew hardly at all unless it's time for their kitten kibble. Not to mention the fact that they (just like their momma) don't tear up the furniture. They like to excercise their claws on the little mat outside their litter box, which is fine by me. This all adds up to one thing: these kittens have stolen our hearts. But now we are forced to move to a new place, and they will only let us have momma cat and my dog at the apartment. We tried everything to find these sweet, adorable, perfect (don't you think?) kittens a home, but nobody wants them. Aparantly the shops and adoption places only want kittens when they are fresh out of momma, because they told us our kittens are too old to sell (i guess they think newlywed impulse buyers prefer cute tiny newborn kittens without thinking about how they will have to train them theirselves) All the shelters say they are full. Our only option given was to call animal control and have them put down. After all this run-around and much worrying, we have come down to the wire. We are moving in TWO DAYS! I don't know what to do. No one wants these kittens but they are SOOOO adoptable. What should I do? I can't bear to just send them to their deaths or just leave em on the streets (which to me is just like sending them to their deaths). We are in Lubbock, Tx. Does anyone know of any resources that can help us? I also have family in DFW and they said if I could find someone their to take them, they would come and get them. But everyone seems to be full right now and it would be too late before they would be willing to take these three little kittens.

  1. if i understand the last part correctly, you have family that will take them. board them at a vet until family can take them. have the vet ship them, if necessary.

didnt you ever wonder where the mom came from? cats dont usually materialize in bathrooms.

  2. If it was me. I'd take them with me...keep them in a kennel until you hopefully find them a home. The shelter shouldn't of turned them away. At least our doesn't.

  3. try posting them on craig's list in your area? Take flyers with pictures to the positing boards of local pet stores and vets offices. Include all their lovely traits. Wanted ad's in paper are like 14 bucks for a week's running as well.
