  1. are we doing your homework for you? i think this would be considered cheating lol

  2. Simply divide the numbers then take note of the signs.

    rule in division and multiplication:

unlike signs , the answer will have negative - sign

like signs, the answer will have a positive + sign

    1. -15/3 = -5

    2. -9/-9 = +1

  3. -15/3 is -5 (-5*3=-15)

    -9/-9 is 1 (1*-9=-9)

  4. dividing negative numbers is almost the same as dividing positive #s.

the first thing you do is just take away the negative sign and divide.

    so 15 divided by 3 is 5.

now you look at the signs of the 2 number you divided to add the sign in front (positive or negative) of the quotient. if both numbers have the same sign, the answer is positive. if they have different signs, the answer is negative.

in the first example, -15 and 3 have different signs. so the answer is negative. the answer is -5

now for the second one, do the same thing. take away the signs of the 2 numbers. you have 9 and 9.

9 divided by 9 is 1 (any # divided by itself is 1)

now look at the signs of those 2 numbers. since they are the same, the quotient is positive. so the answer is just 1.

    so the answers:

    1) -5

    2) 1
