CPI forumala = Consumer Price Index

NNP =  Net National Product

NI = National Income

PI = Personal Income

DI = Disposable Income

S = Savings = Income - Consumption

Note:

Gross Domestic Product:  The Expenditures Approach

Personal Consumption Expenditures (C)

+ Gross Private Investment (I) + Government Spending (G)

+ Net Net Exports(X-M)= Gross Domestic Product = GDP

Now, GDP + net payment to rest of world

= Gross National Product = GNP

Now, GNP- Depreciation = Net National Product = NNP

Now, NNP - Indirect taxes(IT) – subsidies + other

= National Income = NI

Now, NI - Corporate Profit – Dividends

- retained corporate earnings- social insurance (payroll taxes) + Personal interest paid by government + Transfer Payments = Personal Income =  PI

Now PI - Personal Taxes = Disposable Income = DI



Gross Domestic Product: The Income Approach

Wages and Salaries +Proprietors’ Income (profit)

+Corporate Profit +Net Interest +Rental Income

  = National Income =NI

Now , NI + Indirect taxes – subsidies + other

= Net National Product = NNP

NNP+ Depreciation = Gross National Product+ GNP

GNP + Net factor payment to rest of world

  = Gross Domestic Product = GDP
