  1. anytihing but the KTM....its not the case of ''if'' it blows, its ''when''...

  2. yamaha xt660x

  3. if you don't go on the interstate very much then a suzuki drz400 would be ideal.  if you do go on the interstate, then you should get a scotts steering stabilizer, it makes 70mph+ much more comfortable

or husqvarna te610 is perfectly geared and light, ktm are good but require oil changes constantly

EDIT: yeah KTM LC8 motors are good, but generally aren't in the supermoto's.  I'm talking LC4 4stroke thumper.

  4. What land are the two people in who slag off the KTM? Constant oil changes and blowing motors. I guess they have read something somewhere in history about the old 2 stroke motors and have never actually bothered with a modern 4 stroke KTM and certainly never owned one.

Had an Adventure for couple of years now and it is rock solid, been to Mongolia and back with its previous owner. If you get off a Ducati and buy the 4000 Suzuki then you will lose the will to live pretty quickly and for anyone to reccomend the Husky as also suitable for commuting is plain bizarre.

The 990 SM from KTM is a good, strong, reliable and relatively comfortable bike. You will noty go far wrong with it. They also have the new smaller version.

Edit - by coincidence after writing the above, I was looking for reviews on some other adventure bikes and came accross the following. I rate this guy, he is impartial and pretty down to earth
