Question:

Can anybody recommend a reasonably priced hotel in Auckland, NZ near the cruiseship terminal?

All we need is a bed and a shower - no fancy amenities - to rest up before a cruise in mid-November. Also, would it be better to stay near the airport, or near the cruiseship terminal? Are there any bad or dangerous areas we should stay out of?

  1. umm not really nz is relativly safe. Manakau is pretty bad though

  2. I live in Auckland and know some hotels around that aren;t too bad for price.

Youc could try the Copthorne which is just across the road to the cruiseship terminal,

or just look on the internet and get your quotes on NZ Google and you will find exactly what you need.

  3. Try Hilton at 66 pp. Average price is 100 pp, a condo-type hotel by the harbor is President Hotel.

  4. Theres not much point staying out at the airport, theres nothing there, and as far as areas go town would probably be safer anyway! (Although you're safe any touristy area you go in Auckland.)

I'm guessing the cruise leaves from town...town is literally right next to the harbour. I'm guessing it'd be a little more expensive though. So again, you could stay anywhere in the CBD and you'd be walking distance or a cheap taxi fare from the ferries :)

from what I looked for on a website, this seemed to be the most appropriate/most basic one that still had good reviews...

http://www.nz.com/new-zealand/accommodat... - apparently the airport bus stops outside

or if you wanted one on the waterfront...a bit more expensive

    Hope that helps!
