Can anybody show me how to use powerpoint???

Question

i need to do a project bout me on powerpoint i have never used it in my life would anybody help me in using it i have tried googling for help but i dont seem to understand please help!!!!

Best thing to do is buy one of those "Dummies" books.

They seem to get to the point and you can always refer back to them.

If you have time later on, consider taking a class at a local community college.

First off, can you get to the starting screen?

Second, What is the project on?

Okay so it may say "Click here to start new project" or something like that in the middle. Click there. Now you are on your first slide. Usually people make a title slide here with some snazzy photos, can you get there okay?

On the left there is a preview of all your slides. To add more you click "Insert" then "New Slide"...or hit ctrl+M. On your right hand side there is slide layout. That is pretty self explanitory. You don't need to worry much about it. I usually click the blank one then insert what I need...To insert stuff its mostly on the bottom. There are icons there that will help you. Or go to "Insert" then select what you need. You can also copy and paste.

When you have some things in their you can chose an object on your screen and right click. Go to "Custom Animation" There you will be able to put in fun effects. You can also insert a backround song if you have one you want on your computer. To do this, again go to insert ....movies and sounds....sound from file. If you decide to let me know because sounds are a little tricky and there are side instructions on how to get it to go the way you want.

Like custom animation you can use "Slide transiton" (also on right click) but that moves the whole slide for you. And I'll explain more if you need it.

1) open up powerpoint

2) Write any information you want on the boxes that come up and copy and copy any pictures. (if you want ot change the colour of the background right click and press background colour)

3)For another slide press Insert, new slide.

4) and keep going until you are finished.

5) Then if theres anything that you want to move when you play the powerpoint click on slidshow, custom animation. Click on what you want then choose what you want it to do.

6) to play it press Slideshow, view show

This is just the basics hope it helps.

This is not something you can learn in one paragraph.  I'd recommend taking the tutorial that is usually included with most Microsoft products.  Powerpoint is pretty easy to learn so you just need to play with it for a while.  You might want to try and find a Powerpoint class online.
