Can anybody sugest an fpga based project as major project in B Tech

One interesting area in FPGAs is the growth of code generators that create the final code for the FPGA directly from a graphical mdel. Matlab supports several FPGAs. So given this capability - is the code generated as efficient as a hand code implementation could be a topic. Is there advantages for specific types of FPGA applications (say ladder logic -versus speech synthesis)
