Can anybody suggest a good Ayurvedic place to stay in India?

I am looking to book 2 weeks in India, probably Kerela, for 2 people, somewhere that offers ayurvedic treatments, is near to a beach, has meditation sessions, and other optional trips, good food etc. I don't really want a big resort in a chain, I'm looking for something a little more unique and individual and authentic, something you don't find on a package holiday! Any suggestions, quite flexible with location, time, price, and even country! Looking for ideas, the ayurvedic bit is the essential. thanks

  1. Try Amala medical college Trichur in kerala.

This is a fully fledgegd medical college, but they also do Ayurvedic medicine.  I am only suggesting this place asyou said you were not keen on resorts.

    The facilities are very there.

Or you could try Ashtavaidyan Thaikkattu Mooss Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala.  This is better than Amala as this specialises purely in what you want.

    This is also in Kerala

If you need any more info just email me

  2. umm... there are some good ashrams in haridwar ... they are very authentic ...

divine life society in haridwar would be the best for you... they are not really spa or something but ... a place to learn... and meditate.. or learn yoga....

there is a naturopathy hospital in pune too .... but it is not for luxury only for treatment...

the ones that you would find in travel packages are normally the ones that provide you with both the things...otherwise you would get only one...

either ayurvedic treatment centre .. or the beach and fun...
