I wanted to know if for doing hats (trucker),t-shirts and canvases does the Peak C-5 with the polar bear 2000 comppressor work for that sort of things. And how do I control the thinness and the fattness that the paint comes out. And with the paints can I use any type of acrylic paints.Like the Apple Battle brand. And if you can some pointers or tips maybe.

I'm sort of a newbie in this so can you plz help??????

Thanks in Advance,

  1. try single action airbrushing. single action airbrushes operates kinda the same way as a can of spray paint but you can adjust the amount of paint applied and the air pressure. to control the amount of paint when you push down on the trigger you would adjust paint volume adjustment k**b. turning  k**b clockwise makes paint  thinner and turning it counter clockwise makes paint thicker, which means during the painting process to adjust paint flow you must stop and adjust the paint volume k**b to increase or decrease paint flow. it's kinda slow though.....(and use a bottom or siphone feed airbrush, it's like the best.)

  2. I can't tell you about the compressor, as I am not familiar with that model.  But, I can tell you that unless it was designed to be used with an artist's airbrush, there could be problems.  An ordinary, industrial compressor will pulse the air with each stroke of the piston, causing pulses in the paint.  This results in an uneven line.  However, such a compressor can be combined with an air tank, and the flow from the tank can be regulated to provide an even flow at the proper pressure.

An alternative to any compressor is to power the brush from other compressed gas sources such as a nitrogen or a CO2 tank.  Again, properly regulated, these will provide plenty of DRY propellant at a steady pressure. (usually ten to fifteen pounds at the hose)

The minimum thickness of the line will depend on the brush tip you use.  Other adjustment include how the choke is set in the tip, and how close and how far the tip is from the material being painted.

For paint, check out the specially formulated FABRIC acrylics found at most art and craft stores.  All of thes paints will need to be thinned to the consistanc of thick cream, and FILTERED daily, to remove any solid particles that may clog the airbrush tip.

I used to do custom airbrushed tee shirts and craft festivals an holidy boutiques.
