depends what age you are, Palma, Magaluf for teenagers, Alcudia, Santa Ponsa for families, If you want nothing but a hotel then go to Cala San Vicente, the hotel is built into the rocks on the beach but has nothing there, Peurto Pollensa is more for the retired people. Cala Millor/Bona are nice for families. From all these places I prefered Santa Ponsa and Alcudia.

I can agree with Ben. There are lots of hotels in Majorca and I can recommend the RoomsNet site to search your favorite hotel.

I have gone through lots of booking sites and I found it diffult to find the best one at cheep rates. I can tell you that RoomsNet site has lots of hotels at low rate.  You can also earn points and convert it into money when make your booking with them. I earn 530GBP so far.

I have just come back from Mallorca and we stayed in the St.Regis Mardavall. Although expensive, especially the drink prices, the whole experiance was amazing. the hotel is stunning and situated just outside of Palmanova. If you are there for a long time, i would suggest hiring a car because if you want to see the island, the taxi costs soon mount up! Palma is about a 15 minute drive away by taxi.

There are lots of hotels around the Majorca. I have been there with my wife. We were at Castillo Hotel Son Vida. Hotel’s indoor swimming pool was fantastic.

My recommend is, go through some sites and check Majorca hotels. I arranged my booking with Roomsnet. They have lot of options there.

I think it depends on the type of visit you're going on.   We have a 6 year old, so we prefer a quieter resort but with plenty for the little one to do and an option of family activities, cafes, restaurants, beaches etc.   The place for us is Cales de Mallorca, and the hotel/hotels are the Sol Mastines & Chihuahuas.   They sit on an outcropping with sea views, have an excellent kids & adults entertainment programme and the staff are reaaly friendly and work hard.   3 stars - works for us :-)
