  2. The ancient Mayans kept three calendars. One of them was used to measure very long periods of time and they called this the "Long Count" calendar.

    Our calendars use a series of 3 numbers that increment to keep track of the date, so for example 08.25.2008. The Mayan long count calendar uses a series of 5 numbers. The first day in the Mayan long count calendar was 0.0.0.0.0 which corresponds to August 11, 3114 BC by our calendar. Every 144,000 days, which they called a baktun, the first number would increment, and a new baktun would start.

    Remember how exciting it was, at the turn of the millennium, to see our calendars go from 12/12/1999 to 1/1/2000? That's exactly whats going to happen to the Mayan calendar on December 12, 2012. Its going to change from 12.19.19.17.19 to 13.0.0.0.0, just as it has done the previous 12 baktuns.

    There is no evidence that the Mayans expected anything special to happen on this day, except for another new years celebration. And there is absolutely no evidence of any astronomic or geologic event that's supposed to take place on that day.

    Still, conspiracy theorists have managed to interpret this as meaning the world is going to end. Throughout history, the end of the world has been predicted countless times. Those days have all come and gone without incident. I suspect that December 12, 2012 will come and go, just like any other day, and nothing will happen.

  3. No one really said it would end, just that the Mayan(?) calander stops  at 2012.

    Dont worry about things over which you have no controll. Just live.

  4. no one can tell you when the world will end. the BIBLE says that GOD THE FATHER is the only one who knows the day and time for the end. i would find something else to worry about.

  7. according to Maya Earth will be destroyed in the 12th of December 2012. Mayas have predicted many of the natural disasters and the exact day they took place. so you shouldn't make any plans for that day. but you shouldn't think like that. just enjoy your life.  

  8. It has to do with the astrological passage from the Age of Pieces into the Age of Aquareus.  

    It's a matter of interpretation (based on what mythology you hold to be true) whether it's the "end of the world" or simply the "end of the Age (of Pieces)"

  9. yes, even i have heard that something gonna happen in DEcember, 2012. Scientifically,That day our planets are going to get aligned with center of our galaxy. there could be a fractional polar drift but it could be significant as well.

    Astrologically as well, we do not have prophecies beyond that...We dont have ancient calender beyond that...So, something gonna happen for sure

  10. According to the Scientist ( NASA and others) they believe some sort of meteorite is going to strike our planet which is larger then our planet.

    they for some believe that our planet will be doomed in 2012  but they are working on some kind of weapon  (may be a bomb ) for that meteorite to blast it away.

    so don't worry

I think its more to do with an end of life as we know it.  We are evolving into a higher being, which will be vibrating at a higher level.  This may mean that telepathy will be the norm and we manifest our thoughts instantly.  Apparently Mother Earth and the rest of our galaxy wants to evolve into the fifth dimension but to do so her children of Earth (us) has to evolve aswell.  Apparently if we all focus on love and forgiveness and sharing rather than material things and fear we will help this transition to go though smoothly with the least disruption poss. The reason 2012 is used a lot is because thats when the Mayan calenders end and also the Egyptian calender. The Mayan calenders are the most accurate (more accurate than our present day one) and they also knew of star systems that we only discovered recently.  Its the end of a 4th world and the beginning of a fifth. The beginning of 1000 yrs of peace and love, alot of people think this is the time 'the revealtion' refers to in the bible and that the son of God is coming again soon. There are rumors that Earth is passing through a photon belt around this time which will have some effects and poss Earth s magnetic poles been switched.  Also the Earth will be ligning up with the centre of our galaxy (the great conjunction).     as there are so many different things coinciding with this date that there are too  many to mention here.  I got the book Beyond 2012 by Geoff Stray from the library and this mentions all the theories and researches each one.  Its very interesting...Native Amercians say the darkest time is the moment before dawn and it somehow feels like that is happening on earth at the moment ie. the darkest time (the toughest) is now before 2012 when the time of peace and love begins.  I do know that alot of tribes people (who have lived connected to Earth and the other dimensions) all over the world including The Hopis speak of great changes taking place soon....  Only time will tell I suppose.
