  1. Beach Bum needs to look at he KTM 450 again they have a 450 with 4 gears, 5 gears, and 6 gears. I have a 2007 525EXC 6- speed and it never quits pulling and have rode the 2008 450 EXC and I can't wait to have the 450. It depends on what 450 you are interested in. My choice KTM

  2. The Kawasaki is a 5 speed and the KTM is a 4 speed, neither would be good in the woods unless it's wide open.  I would choose the Kawasaki based on the fact that the suspension is better stock.

  3. I agree with these guys all the way. It is just personal preference. KTM suspension, on all of their bikes, can be a little more tricky to get dialed in, but unless you are a very fast rider you won't notice the difference. If you plan to do MX and trails I would go woth the KTM personally just for the e button.

  4. there is no clear cut way to tell if a modern bike is better than another. What works for me, may not work for you.

you need to look at both bikes and make a choice...

I think the KTM is a little better just because it comes with an electric start, but I like the kawasaki because of its looks....

as far as faults go, I would say that the KTM is a little better. I have heard that the kawasaki tends to burn valves. but this is just what I have heard....it may not be true...

in the end, either bike will be a good choice, but it may come down to what color you want......
