any old stories that parents use to tell there children in wales or ireland? such as myths? or scottland?

de burca's answer is good.  For example we were told of a giant called Fionn (Finn) McCumhaill (coool) who got angry one day and tore a piece out of Norther Ireland and flung it into the Irish sea! this made Lough Neagh and the Isle of Man!
