  1. It depend on the traffic law in your area, you can call them to give you the write answer

  2. I think it varies from state to state.

Some go by age, some go by weight and or height.  You should also consult the manufactures operation manual.  You will loose product liability (suing the car maker if child is killed) if you don't follow the manufacturers instructions and recommendations.

  3. I think thati have  the answer to your problem.12 is the answer. Have a good front-seat day!

  4. 1. BEFORE YOUR FIRST BIRTHDAY LESS THAN 20 POUNDS REAR-FACING INFANT-ONLY CAR SEAT OR CONVERTIBLE SEAT USED IN REAR-FACING POSITION, SECURED IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR.

    2. 20–35 POUNDS CONVERTIBLE SEAT USED IN REAR-FACING POSITION, SECURED IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR. LOOK FOR A CHILD SAFETY SEAT THAT IS RECOMMENDED FOR HEAVIER INFANTS.

    3. WHEN YOU ARE 1, 2, 3, AND 4 20–40 POUNDS FACE FORWARD IN A CONVERTIBLE SEAT OR A FORWARD-FACING-ONLY SEAT OR HIGH-BACK BOOSTER/HARNESS IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR.

    4. WHEN YOU ARE 4, 5, 6, 7, OR 8 LESS THAN 4’9” (57 INCHES) TALL BELT-POSITIONING BOOSTER SEAT (NO BACK) OR HIGH-BACK BELT-POSITIONING BOOSTER SEAT IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR.

    5. WHEN YOU ARE 8, 9, 10, 11, OR 12 MORE THAN 4’9” (57 INCHES) TALL MAY USE AN ADULT SEATBELT, BUT MUST KEEP YOUR BACK AGAINST THE SEAT BACK, YOUR KNEES BENT OVER THE EDGE OF THE SEAT, AND YOUR FEET FLAT ON THE FLOOR IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR.

    6. WHEN YOU ARE MORE THAN 12 YEARS OLD MORE THAN 4’9” (57 INCHES) TALL MAY SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF THE CAR WITH AN ADULT SEATBELT.

  5. any vehicle with air bags should not have a baby car seat facing forward for starters.. all kids under 4ft 11inchs should be using the correctly fitted seating requirements.. UK anyway, not sure on anywhere else.. very brief-sorry..

  6. Not all states have specific laws concerning this. Some do , check out inventiveparent.com to look up your state. However, law is not the most important issue, safety is. And experts agree that no child under the age of 12-13 years should ever sit in the front seat of a vehicle.

  7. it all depends on whether you have an air bag in the passenger seat at the front. If you have then the child must be 12 years of age and does not need a car seat. It doesn't matter whether it is a car or a van the same rules apply. An airbag can seriously injure or even kill a child under 12 if you have an accident as they are too small to be protected like an adult is. Only baby seats can be used in front but facing the back of the seat not forwards.Dont take my word for it ,a childs life is too precious so make sure your child is safe in your vehicle.

  8. The back seat is always best for any child that uses a car seat.
