Can anybody tell me what is the best bait to use to catch Salmon. I've tried artificials with no luck at all.

The bridge that I fish off I can literally see the school of Salmon run by, but they completely ignore everything I throw at them. Any suggestions on how to entice one of them onto my hook would be appreciated.

powerbait orange or lemon twist is awsome and works great.

If your seein' them in schools they probably be on their Summer "Spawn Run" and a Salmon will not really feed but, attack. So what ya' want to do is provoke them, in other words, p _ _ s em' off... I go with couple of "aggravators" that produce purrrrty well ie., larger spinners and what is known as a KwikFish (I'll put a Sardine wrap on the KF). Have provided you with some links, first one is a sight that has been with me for years (it'll give ya' some real good tips), the others are the "Aggravators" and procedures for the Sardine wrap . Update: As UNDERTAKER 24/7 mentioned the use of Salmon Roe. Lotta' times I use a Spin n' Glo (link) followed up by a Salmon Roe "Trailer"...

well.....I'm guessing they're Chinook so if that's the case you can try salmon roe (Not Pautzkes eggs), live sand shrimp OR the "Shrimp Cocktail" which is both salmon row and a sand shrimp.

ask your local baitshop how to properly rig these.

if these are coho, then try spinners and spoons in combinations of silver and blue. Coho LOVE hardware....

Try using Egg Sacks or Salmon Eggs

go to youre lokal walmart or target go to the fishing isle and pick up a container that says gulp and make sure it says egg sacks and then you may want to buy a few because they really work well

Try anchovies. Salmon really go for them when trolling.

i agree with undertaker 24/7....

and try red colored lures-- as in fire engine red. don't know why, but it does work..

try getting off the bridge, they may see you.
