  1. I just got back from there, and they were sweet, they helped me and my family out alot and they were very polite, but i miet maybe a few that were rude and careless

  2. You will love the people.  Just remember that we, as Americans, are very driven people and can be impatient.  These people are in no hurry.  So, just relax and enjoy them.

  3. ON Nassau and Freeport the locals are not quite as friendly and crime happens more often.  Though not anything like Jamaica.  The out or family islands have some of the friendliest people you could ever meet.  Have traveled to the Bahamas almost 30 times and the people on Eleuthera are always fantastic.

  4. You're going to like the people.  They are gracious, dignified, friendly, well spoken and like to dress smartly.  They are patriotic and God fearing.  You can learn a lot about people by reading the local press. Here is a link. http://www.jonesbahamas.com/

  5. New Providence (Nassau) and Grand Bahamas (Freeport) are crowded tourist traps.  The out islands or family islands are wonderful.  There are over 300 islands in The Bahamas so there are numerous choices.

  6. The Bahamian people are as a rule are polite and friendly.

They have a deep love for the Lord, but do not push that belief on to other  people.

There is a program in the Bahamas called People to People,

which may be ideal for you, it would give you a chance to meet a local family and ask questions and see some sights you may not see on your own.
