I would like to no why Amtrak don't have service between Atlanta Ga and Chicago IL?

  1. well amtrak *does* service both points just not on the same train

    you have two options you can board a train to DC

    (on a train called the Capiotl Limited to DC

    depts Chicago at 7:05pm and arrive DC at 1:30pm the next day

    then you have a nice layover for some sightseeing before

    boarding the crescent departing at 6:30pm and arriving in Atlanta at 8:13 the next morning,

    the cost for this routing is $161.00

    the other option is

    to take the Cardinal train to Charlottesville, VA

    (dpt Chicago at 5:45pm arr Charlottesville, VA at 2:47pm

    then another long layover till 8:52pm on the Crescent

    and arrive in Atlana at 8:13am

    cost for this routingg $124.00


  2. The route would be duplicated by to many trains.  Also propably not enough rider ship that would warrant having a locomotive run to Chicago.
